Abstract

Rotary distributors.-In order to allow of ready access to the distributor on an internal-combustion engine, and to provide for its adjustment so as to tighten or slacken the chain drive, the distributor housing f through which the driven shaft j passes eccentrically is mounted adjustably within a circular hole in a plate a clamped between the flange b of the water-outlet pipe and the cylinder head c. The housing may be turned round in the hole, to adjust the chain tension, and secured in the adjusted position by the bolts i passing through arcuate slots in the plate. The housing may be supported at its inner end by a spring clip l secured to the plate at m and, at its free end formed with a spherical projection engaging a recess in the end o of the housing.
