Abstract

1443177 Envelopes JOHN DICKINSON & CO Ltd 30 May 1974 [4 June 1973] 26532/73 Heading B6A An envelope has a transparent portion covered by an opaque-sheet secured thereover, an intermediate portion of the opaque sheet being attached to the remainder by lines of weakness so as to be removable. Fig. 1 is a rear view of the envelope which is formed from a transparent paper blank folded longitudinally so that its edges overlap and are sealed by adhesive at 2. The bottom of the envelope is folded over to form a flap 3 the inner layer of which has a cut out 4 so that the flap can be adhered to the back of the envelope. A strip 7 of opaque paper is glued along its margins 10, 11 to the front and bottom flap of the envelope and has lines of weakening 9 defining a detachable tear strip 8. The top flap 14 has a tab 12 which denotes tampering if the sealed flap is interfered with. A card may be held in a pocket formed by the sealed flap 14.
