Abstract

492,399. Envelopes. SKEINS, D. M., and DICKINSON & CO., Ltd., J. May 1, 1937, No. 12471. [Class 146 (ii)] In envelopes having self-adhesive closure by means of strips c<1>, d<1> of adhesive on the inner face of the closure flap c and on the outer face of the bottom flap d respectively, contact of the adhesive layers during storage is prevented by the location of the edge of the closure flap inside the edge of the bottom flap. The side flaps b are first turned over on to the body a of the envelope, and the closure flap is folded down. The bottom flap is then turned up, and is secured to the side flaps by lines of adhesive d‹, which are of limited length, so that a strip bearing the adhesive d<1> is left free. This strip is sprung outwards to release the closure flap for sealing.
