1442650 Apparatus for electroslag refining INST ELECTR IM EO PATONA AKAD NAUK UKRAINSKOI SSR 11 Dec 1973 57306/73 Heading B3F In an apparatus for producing hollow ingots by an electroslag melting process and comprising a vertically movable electrode holder (3), a mould (13), and a vertically movable mandrel 6 insertable into the mould through a hole in a baseplate (14), the mandrel is secured to a vertically movable bracket 10 by means of a ball 8 and socket 9 joint. The socket 9 is provided with bearings 11 which allow the socket to move horizontally within a housing 12. The mould (13) and its baseplate (14) are mounted on a carriage movable along horizontal guide bars 15.
