Abstract

1,212,400. Casting apparatus. GEB BOHLER & CO. A.G. 6 Nov., 1968 [6 Nov., 1967], No. 52651/68. Heading B3F. [Also in Division H5] A mould 10 is supported by a holding device which is constructed as a mould-lifting carriage 20 having two arms 21 and 24 in fork formation, the arms having channels 22 and 25 through which the supply and withdrawal of a cooling agent to and from the mould takes place, and the mould having side extensions 14 and 17 which rest on the arms 21 and 24. Sealing elements 23 surround the openings of the channels 22 and 25 and guide pins (27) may-be provided on the amrs 21 and 24 to hold the mould in the correct position. The mould and holding device may form part of an electroslag installation which also includes an electrode 50, and electrode holder 60 vertically movable by means of a motor 72 and cable 70. The mould-lifting carriage 20 is vertically movable by motor 42 and cable 40.
