Abstract

1,199,489. Continuous casting. MANNESMANN A.G. 25 Oct., 1967 [26 Oct., 1966], No. 48393/67. Heading B3F. A mould 1 with cooling tubes supplied with water from a jacket 2 fixed around the mould (whose cavity axis may be straight or curved), releasably suspends by pillars 8 passing through the jacket 2 a frame 7 to which guide rolls 6 are attached so that the whole arrangement is reciprocated by a linkage 4 connected to a supporting table 3. By releasing screws or wedges 9, the water jacket 2 and mould 1 can be removed to leave the rolls 6 free for cleaning or exchange. A housing 11 carrying support rolls 10 is aligned by pins 12 sliding in guides 13 on the frame 7.
