Abstract
1,038,169. Continuous casting. DEMAG A.G. May 23, 1963 [June 29, 1962], No. 20696/63. Heading B3F. A bar continuous casting plant comprises an internally straight mould 1 (Figure not shown), with guide rolls 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b &c., which are located in a path curved to the required curvature of the cast bar. The guide rolls and mould are mounted on an oscillating table 5 which moves about a pivot 6 at the centre of curvature of the bar. A stationary set of supporting rolls positioned correspondingly to the curvature of the bar, support the casting as it moves into the horizontal plane. Power-driven withdrawal rolls 13 and 14 are provided and are adjustable to accommodate bars of various dimensions. The bar is finally introduced into a train of straightening rolls 17 and 19.
