Abstract

965,884. Continuous casting. DEMAG A.G. May 22, 1963 [June 27, 1962], No. 20502/63. Heading B3F. In a continuous casting machine the cast bars are supported on means comprising a fixed frame member 5 and a movable frame member 6 which carry guide rollers 2a, 3a &c. Rollers in the fixed member are connected to corresponding rollers in the movable member by links 4, the angular positions of which are determined by the position of the movable member which is effected by a screw adjustment 7. In alternative embodiments both frame members are movable parallel to the axis of casting and are carried on the uppermost link which is pivoted about the casting axis and has an associated screw-adjuster to vary the inclination of the links and hence the gap between the rollers. The frame members may also be formed from links.
