Abstract

953,037. Continuous casting-machines. CONCAST A.G. July 23, 1962, No. 28192/62. Addition to 924,986. Heading B3F. In a continuous casting-machine as described in the parent Specification the casting guiding means is divided into two or more successive sections and at least the first section immediately following the mould is withdrawable together with the associated supporting means in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of the casting. The first section 7 is withdrawable on a truck 4 and the next section 5 may be either withdrawable or fixed. Each section comprises guide rollers such as 32, 52, Fig. 3, whose spacing may be varied as by spur gearing to accommodate different sizes of castings. The section 7 also supports an exchangeable guiding section 19, whose rolls are non-adjustable as to spacing.
