Abstract
1,075,670. Continuous casting-machines. DER VON MOOS'SCHEN EISENWERKE A.G. Oct. 15, 1964 [Oct. 29, 1963], No. 42181/64. Heading B3F. A continuous casting apparatus comprises guide means and associated secondary cooling equipment which guides the casting in an at least partly curved path, and which is hinged in a bearing for deflection out of its working position. The guide means 9 may be fitted with wheels 24, 25 so that it may be pivoted as shown and withdrawn. The inner portion 26 of the guide means which includes secondary cooling equipment forms a separate assembly which may be pivoted about a pin 14 so that it may be raised to release a prematurely cooled casting without damaging the guide means. In another embodiment the guide means is pivoted intermediate its length. In a multiple mould arrangement, Fig. 6, each guide means may be swung laterally about a pivot 61 and then upwardly about a pivot-pin 14 so that a carriage may be moved thereunder whereafter the pin 14 may be withdrawn and the guide means removed. Various other embodiments are described and shown.
