Cars and cabins.-In aircraft cabins having a side door which interrupts the upper longeron of the cabin as described in the parent Specification, the weakening of the upper longeron is compensated for by making a transverse member or bolt on the door serve as a continuation of the longeron, Figs. 2 and 3, or by making the door frame of solid construction and providing struts between its upper part and the longeron, Fig. 4. In the first method, the transverse member m is attached to the longeron a at one side of the door by the hinge strap n, and at the other side by a projection o engaging a claw r in such a way as to transmit tensile and compressive stresses along the longeron. In the second method, struts p lead from the upper member s of the door frame as shown, and other struts g, g<1> may extend from the lower door member k and the lower longeron.
