Abstract

394,462. Omnibuses. CROSSLEY MOTORS, Ltd. and WILDE, A. H., Gorton, Manchester. April 25, 1932, No. 11811. [Class 108 (i).] The transverse ribs carrying the upper deck of a double-deck vehicle are constructed from two castings bolted together at e, one casting being of stepped form comprising a part beneath the passenger gangway and a riser c while the other casting comprises the part b beneath the seats. The main transverse ribs are carried by the pillars a while intermediate ribs h have flanges for securing them to longitudinals i borne by the pillars a. The ribs are also provided with flanges &c. j whereby wooden longitudinal members h are bolted to the ribs and longitudinals p, o for a panel q and a longitudinal n for a stanchion f are also provided.
