475,921. Vehicle bodies. OTTAWAY, E. C., and LONDON PASSENGER TRANSPORT BOARD. Sept. 25, 1936, No. 26031. [Class 108 (i)] In order to minimize damage to the body framework of a vehicle in the event of collision the outer panelling, or the lower part thereof, is spaced away from the body framework. As shown the body pillars 12, having channels to receive a wooden fillet 15 to which the outer panelling 16 is secured, are inswept and attached to the chassis or underframe 11 while the wooden fillet 15 is extended downwardly clear of the pillar 12 and carries the lower part of the panelling. The lower end of the fillet 15 may be connected to the chassis 11 by curved brackets 17 having panelling 18. The pillars 12 may be braced and provided with members to carry the floor 13.
