Abstract
1441996 Electro-photographic materials INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 4 Jan 1974 [15 Jan 1973 (2)] 00490/74 Heading G2C An electro-photographic material comprises an electrically conductive support coated, with a layer containing a triaryl pyrazoline as a change transporter and a change pattern generation layer between the support and pyrazoline layer. The change generation layer may contain an inorganic or organic photo-conductor (e.g. Se/Te/As allys or cyanize or disazo pigments as Specifications 1365766 and 1370197 or preferably is a methine dye derived from squaric acid which with the pyrazoline functions as a photo-conductor. The triaryl pyrazolines are preferably of Formula wherein n is 0 or 1 and A,A<SP>1</SP> and A<SP>2</SP> are phenyl which may be substituted with an electron donating group. The support may be subbed with polyacrylic resin before applying the methine dye (of Example 19). The methine dye may be coated with a polymer such as polyvinyl butyral optionally mixed with polymethyl methacrylate and the pyrazoline layer may contain a polyester or a polycarbonate.
