Abstract

1440565 Centrifugal pumps CLAESSEN & CO Ltd 25 Sept 1973 [26 Sept 1972] 44468/72 Heading F1C A submersible pump installation comprises a tubular casing 1 fixed to the bottom of a sump, a discharge tube connected to a peripheral outlet 2 of the casing, a centrifugal pump unit having a motor 25, impeller 26 and resilient seals 30, 34 the unit being movable into the casing 1 along a pair of tubular rails (4), 5 so that when the pump is in its lowermost (i.e. operating) position liquid is drawn in from the bottom of the sump through an opening 28 to a chamber 36 formed by the casing 1 and the resilient seals 30, 34, and discharges into the discharge tube. The pump unit is raised and lowered by a winch 13, Fig. 2 (not shown). The guide rails may be extended by telescopic tubes (8, 9) and locked by a strut (10).
