Abstract

The pump has a suction casing containing a doublesided impeller and a discharge casing containing a high pressure impeller. Liquid is drawn off after the first stage to be treated in some way before returning to the second stage. The intermediate casing which is bolted between the suction and discharge casings contains the inlet channel to one half of the first stage impeller, the discharge volute of the first stage, the first stage discharge draw off connection, the return connection for the second stage and the second stage inlet passage. The inclusion of all these parts within the intermediate casing makes a pump with facilities for drawing off and reintroducing liquid more compact than would otherwise be the case.
