Abstract

The electrically driven pump is designed for use in wells or in industrial applications where access is difficult or dangerous. The motor housing (2) is bolted directly to the pump housing (3). The end of the pump housing (10) adjoining the motor is tapered and is fitted with two O rings (16). An outer housing (4) is permanently fixed to the base (11) and has a tapered bore to receive the pump casing. The pump outlet (18) in the outer casing (4) is then aligned with the outlet (14) of the inner casing with the O rings forming seals on either side of the inlet. A peg (22) in the outer casing indicates correct angular alignment of the inner casing.
