Abstract
1438259 Photographic matting layers AGFA-GEVAERT AG 30 May 1974 [6 June 1973] 23940/74 Heading G2C A photographic light-sensitive material contains at least one matt layer containing particles of anhydrous silica enveloped in a hydrophilic oilforming agent containing at least one carboxylic acid group, preferably of the Formula:- wherein R is a straight or branched chain alkyl or alkenyl group containing 12 to 20 carbon atoms; n = 1 or 2 and X is -OR 1 or -NR 1 R 2 where R 1 is hydrogen, alkyl which may be substituted, cycloalky, aralkyl, aryl or a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic group, R 2 is a group as defined for R 2 or -OH, amino, or acylamino or where R 1 and R 2 together form a 5- or 6-membered ring. The matt layer may be a light-sensitive, e.g. silver halide emulsion, layer or a protective supercoat layer, and may contain a U/V-absorbing agent. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1370151.
