Abstract

143,461. Clamp, C. J. Sept. 22, 1919. Fittings for hammocks.-A hammock A is slung from transverse members c carried by the hood supports or by the hood and wind-screen supports of a motor-car. The transverse members c may be carried by perforated plates a secured to the hood and wind-screen supports b, b<1>, as shown in Fig. 1, or the plates a may be carried by hinged clips i secured to the supports b, b<1> by a bolt j, as shown in Fig. 4. The hammock is formed at one end with a tubular sleeve through which one support c passes, and is secured to the other support by lacing. Sagging may be prevented by connecting the hammock to the hood supports h. The invention may be employed in conjunction with the tent covering for a vehicle described in Specification 141,273.
