Bodies; hoods; omnibuses; lorries.-A motor vehicle adaptable for easy conversion to either a passenger-carrying or a load - carrying vehicle, comprises a body with permanent sides and rear mounted on longitudinal rails 1 having vertical stays 2 connected to the rear ends preferably by a scarfed joint and an angle-iron stay 3, and cross-rails 4 to the ends of which vertical side stays 5 are connected. A side door 7 is provided for passengers, and at the rear a loading door preferably hinged at the bottom, and which may be locked when the seats 16 are in use. Casings 15 are provided in the body for the reception of the wheels, and a top rail 19<a> is provided. An ordinary hood 20, Fig. 6, is suported on brackets 21, which may be turned to allow the hood to fall, as shown, during loading, the brackets being supported in ring holders 23 to which they may be held by wing nuts 24.
