Windscreens.-A bracket for supporting the vertical pillar 14 of an arm 15 carrying a multipanel windscreen of a motor vehicle comprises a plate 1 adapted to be secured to the vehicle body, a tubular portion 3 formed in or attached to the plate 1, a liner 5 adapted to be inserted and fixed in the portion 3 and provided with one or more longitudinal slots 6 so as to render the liner contractible, a split collar 8 adapted to embrace the liner about its slotted portion, and means, such as bolt 12 passing through lugs on the collar 8, for contracting the liner 5 into frictional engagement with the pillar 14. The slots 6 are preferably closed at both ends, and the collar 8 may be cast integral with the tubular portion 3 or liner 5.
