1434303 Blending fibres BRASCHLER & CIE 16 May 1973 23358/73 Headings DID and D1F Fancy yarn is made in an apparatus comprising at least two primary drafting units 2 each drafting a corresponding roving G and arranged to deliver the flattened roving to an immediately following guide 5 having channels for individually receiving rovings from the primary drafting units and delivering them through a common guide channel 'to the' input of a secondary drafting unit 1 There is' a drive means for the primary and secondary drafting units and control means for selectively engaging, disengaging and varying the drives and speeds of the drafting units. The secondary drafting unit is arranged to run at a higher speed than the primary drafting unit. The drafting devices may comprise apron delivery devices mounted on a "push-in" unit 25 for the apparatus (see also Figs. 2 and 3 not shown), which can be automatically locked in position. The rollers carrying the aprons in the "push-in" unit can be adjustable. The speed of the rollers can be controlled by punched or magnetic tape acting on a clutchbrake arrangement, see Figs. 6 and 7 not shown.
