Abstract

1432322 Rotary percussive tools ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 15 March 1974 [17 March 1973] 11554/74 Heading B4C [Also in Division B3] A rotary percussive tool comprises an airoperated vane type motor and a percussion mechanism, said motor comprising an external rotor 3 and an internal stator 8 said percussion mechanism comprising a rotary hammer 16 and anvil 20, said hammer having radial teeth 15 which engage with co-operating teeth in a hammer guide housing 13 attached to the rotor. Rotary motion is transmitted from hammer 16 to anvil 20 by means of a compression spring 29. A cam-shaft 22 is fixedly attached to the anvil 20 such that when the tool holder is prevented from rotating cam 23 thereon moves relative to hammer 16 and through a ball 25 causes axial motion of the hammer until the resistance is overcome. The hammer and anvil have striking surfaces 18, 19, respectively.
