Abstract

1352803 Staple driving tools H CHATARD 26 May 1972 [28 May 1971] 24860/72 Heading B4C A staple driving attachment for a rotary percussive drill, comprises a rod 43, to be held by the chuck 45 of the drill, mounted at one end of a staple driving rod 40 by means of a ball bearing 42 for rotation relative thereto, a housing 50 accommodating the driving rod, and a magazine 56 accommodating a bar of staples and a spring biased pusher 60. In operation, application of the free end of the housing against a workpiece forces rod 40 against bias of spring 55 and into contact with the leading staple, and only axial reciprocations imparted to the rod 43 by the drill will be transmitted to the driving rod 40 to effect driving of the leading staple. The housing has a laterally extending handle (51) (Fig. 1, not shown).
