Abstract

1,034,006. Impact wrenches. SKIL CORPORATION. Oct. 8, 1964 [Oct. 28, 1963], No. 41045/64. Heading B3N. A rotary impact wrench comprises a handle 12 enclosing a pneumatic motor 15, and a head 14 inclined at an angle B thereto, the head carrying an impact clutch 40. The clutch comprises a hammer 41 and an anvil 43 having axially movable pins 48 which co-operate with the dogs 50 on the anvil. A series of cams 53-55 operable by means of relative rotation between the anvil and hammer are provided to periodically project pins 48 to impact the anvil. The end of the anvil has a hexagonal or like tool receiving socket 76 therein, and an adaptor 80, Fig. 6 (not shown), for holding a tool in the socket is provided.
