Abstract

1,002,263. Percussive tools. INGERSOLLRAND CO. June 7, 1962 [June 8, 1961; Dec. 12, 1961], No. 35715/63. Divided out of 1,002,262. Heading B4C. [Also in Division B3] In a modification of the impulse tool described in Specification 1,002,262 the tool is used as a source of impulse for driving a hammer H 2 , Figs. 15-17. Shaft 16 is screwed to stationary housing Hf and oil from the portion HP flows through passages 64, 65 during the impulses to actuate a piston 68 against a spring 68a. In a further modification shaft 16, Fig. 15b, rotates and the housing is fixed the fluid passing through a nipple 66b to an hydraulic cylinder. The reciprocating motion of piston 68 may be converted into rotary motion for a drill or nut runner by fixing a converter 69 to hydraulic piston 68.
