Abstract

1431121 Piston compressors FRITZ HAUG AG 20 Aug 1973 [21 Aug 1972] 39352/73 Heading F1N To facilitate repair of a piston compressor, a crank-shaft 3 is supported at one end by a main bearing 2 and carries a sleeve 8 with bearings 7 for the big end or ends of one or more connecting rods which is, or are each in two separable parts 6a, 6b and the compressor housing 1 has, adjacent the crank-shafts free end an opening 11 sealed by a removeable cover 12. The two parts 6a, 6b of each connecting rod may be joined together by a pin 13 Fig. 1 or, a groove and key joint Fig. 2 (not shown), which joint ensures linearity of the two parts 6a, 6b. By this arrangement, the sleeve 8, the bearings 7 and the parts 6a can be removed.
