Abstract

1430279 Jet-dyeing apparatus GASTON COUNTY DYEING MACHINE CO 30 Nov 1973 [26 Dec 1972 20 July 1973] 55629/73 Heading D1L Textile fabrics are jet-dyed at a short liquor ratio by circulating the fabric through the kier under the blowing influence of a jetted gas withdrawn from the interior thereof, fresh dye liquor being metered into the gas flow upstream of the venturi. Air or N 2 sucked from the interior of the kier 10 via line 38, is blown at 36 through heat exchanger 40 and mixed at 54 with dye liquor pumped at 46 via line 48. The gas/liq. suspension is then jetted via annulus 32 onto the fabric at venturi 28. The fabric is circulated by the jet stream through conduits 20 into the kier at 22 against perforated plate 56. The fabric, after passage through the J-tube 16, is recirculated to the venturi 28 by suction roller 26, excess liquor being removed from the fabric, by pump 64. Dye fixation may be carried out by introducing steam at 60. An annular air jet may be applied at 18 in the opposite direction to the fabric leaving the kier in order to extract liquor therefrom (see Fig. 5 not shown).
