Abstract

1429722 Reciprocating and endless chain conveyers TRUS JOIST CORP 1 March 1973 [1 June 1972] 9997/73 Heading B8A [Also in Divisions B4-B5] Apparatus for stacking sheets includes trays 34, 36, Fig. 16, connected via lugs 52, Fig. 10, to belts which are reciprocated by pneumatic piston-and-cylinder devices 62, 64. A sheet placed on a tray is advanced thereby and held in its advanced position on arms 194 by a vertically movable gate 112 as the tray is retracted. The arms 194, Fig. 2, which support the sheets, e.g. 5, 6, project from the links of vertically disposed chain loops 172 which can be indexed to raise the sheets by one step. The chain loops are held against return motion by a spring-loaded pawl 210. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,283,232.
