Abstract

1305322 Loading cans on to pallets; endless conveyers MANDREL INDUSTRIES Inc 18 June 1971 [22 June 1970] 28625/71 Headings B8A and B8C In apparatus for arranging cans in layers upon a pallet 51 with the cans being arranged in an odd number of staggered rows in each layer, an even number of staggered rows is fed by conveyer 23 on to a plate 24. As the plate is retracted the first staggered row 107 passes between spaced fingers 42 which then push the remaining rows off the plate on to the pallet with the cans in one layer directly above the cans in the layer beneath. The cans in the row 107 are pushed off one side of the plate and returned by a conveyer to a continuous running feed conveyer which supplies the conveyer 23 which is intermittently operated. A sheet of paper is deposited on each layer of cans by the plate 24 which has suction cups to lift the sheet off a pivoted supply table.
