Packeting by wrapping-up.-Relates to machines for wrapping cylindrical or disc-shaped tablets to form packets such as are shown in Fig. 1. Circular sheets of " cellophane " or other suitable wrapping material are placed by hand or fed in any suitable manner against arcuate stops 6 on a feed-table 1, Fig. 2, which positions them concentrically with relation to apertures 3. 'Tablets are placed on the sheets so as to register with the apertures 3. The table rotates to bring the tablet and wrapper beneath a plunger 59, Fig. 9, which descends and presses them past depending flanges 4 and on to a plunger 55, Fig. 3. The wrapper and tablet are now in the form shown in Fig. 11. Pleating members 29, Figs. 3 and 6, of which there are sixteen radially disposed in a guide head 26, move inwards to form the pleats shown in Fig. 1, each member consisting of two blades 29, spaced apart and set at a slight angle, and mounted on a slide 28. The members are actuated from a reciprocating cam 47 by links 45, 39. The plunger 59 descends again so that a resilient face 60 holds the pleats in position while the members 29 withdraw. The plungers 55, 59 now both rise and leave the enclosed tablet within the flanges 4, by which it is conveyed over a disc 7 and table 2 until it falls on a travelling belt 9. During the travel to that belt, a label may be affixed.
