Abstract
447,241. Feeding biscuits and like flat articles from stacks. VICARS, Ltd., T. & T., and CROSLAND, E. M., Earlestown, Newton-le -Willows, Lancashire. Oct. 10, 1934, No.29087/35. Divided out of 447,112, [Group VI]. [Class 117] A device for delivering biscuits or other flat articles to a creaming or other machine, comprises spaced vertical fingers 18, Figs. 1 and 3, disposed in V-shaped groups carried by a continuously moving conveyer 16 and projecting through a stationary table consisting of a number of wires 13 laterally spaced apart, to withdraw the biscuits &c. 10 which are stacked above the table in a container 11 of V-section disposed with its open side in the direction of the feed of the articles along the table. Preferably, the container is inclined to the vertical sufficiently to prevent the biscuits &c. from falling out and the table is inclined upwardly to the same extent so as to maintain the biscuits &c. in contact with the feeding fingers. The wires constituting the table may be provided with tensioning devices and may be disposed to form a flat or concave surface. A battery of feeding surfaces may be disposed side by side where multiple feed is desired. Specification 447,112 is referred to. The Provisional Specification describes an arrangement in which 'a second container is provided for superposing a second biscuit on top of the first in which the path of the conveyer is inclined to the surface of the table. Means comprising flexible fingers for holding the biscuits in position after leaving the conveyer are also described.
