Abstract
1429719 Subaqueous foundations COMPAGNIE GENERALE D'EQUIPMENT MARITIME HERSENT 7 May 1973 [8 May 1972] 21718/73 Heading E1H A method of connecting a submerged cylindrical casing 2 to a tubular pile 1 comprises the steps of driving the pile through the casing, the upper end of the pile extending above the water, injecting concrete or mortar into the annular space 3 via an opening 4 at the base of the casing 2, forming a concrete plug 5 within the pile 1 and removing the water therein, forming longitudinal holes 6 in the pile and exposing portions of the inner surface of the casing 2 through the, now, set concrete or mortar, and connecting the edges of the holes 6 to the casing 2 by means of packing-pieces (11) Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown). The upper end of the casing 2 may be sealed by a resilient bag 7 which is first inflated with compressed air and then filled with concrete, the bag thus gripping the pile 1. In this case water within the annular space 3 is removed during injection of concrete or mortar via apertures 10 equipped with means to prevent the escape of concrete.
