Abstract

142,805. Walloe, E. May 3, 1919, [Convention date]. Metal-strip fastenings; stud-andslot fastenings.-A fastening for leggings, gaiters, &c. allowing adjustment of their width, comprises a strip of steel 2 arranged along one edge and provided at each end with slots 3 having enlargements 4 to admit the heads of studs 5 on a strip on the other edge, and two or more locking slots 7 either curved or, as shown, inclined to the edge to prevent the studs 5 from slipping out of place. The slots 7 at the bottom of the strip may be longer than those at the top to allow the width of the legging at the top to be adjusted without the bottom fastening becoming undone. One or more intermediate sets of studs and slots may be provided; and, for leggings made of stiff material, the slots may be arranged in separate metal plates.
