Abstract

221,878. Stewart, G. E. June 22, 1923. Belt fastenings.- A lap - joint belt fastening comprises a stamped steel plate A double curved as shown in Fig. 2, with longitudinal strengthening ribs D, E, and transversely disposed bolt holes. Bolts C having countersunk heads with flattened sides engage holes in a lower plate B having a rounded surface and which may be of malleable cast iron. A piece of leather G may be riveted to the plate B to render the driving face flush. A number of such fastenings may be arranged across the lapped joint. Specifications 11065/87 and 23526/92 are referred to.
