Pivoted handles.-The handle of a brush or the like is pivoted between notched lugs fixed on the stock, and is held at various angles by a movable cross-pin in the hollow end pressed into engagement with any pair of notches by a spring or springs. As shown in Fig. 2, the end of the handle is fixed in a socket piece 13 pivoted at 4 between a pair of plates or lugs 2 of a housing fixed to the brush-head 1. Notches 9 in the lugs 2 are engaged by a transverse pin 7 movable in slots 12 in the socket 13 and pressed down by a coil spring above the pin. In a modification, the end of the handle is pivoted between the lugs, and is recessed for two coiled tension springs which engage the pivot pin 4 and the fixing pin 7.
