Abstract

1426891 Two part couplings CAVISCAVETTI ISOLATI SpA 2 Feb 1973 [18 March 1972] 5227/73 Heading H2E An electrical connector for connection of a tape cable to a blade terminal of an electrical component comprises a rectangular block of plastics material 1, having therein a transverse opening 2, in which are received in a first direction tape cable 7 and terminal 8, which are electrically interconnected by approximately V-shaped resilient member 5. Tape cable 7 is resiliently urged against one wall of opening 2 by a 1st arm 5c, of member 5 which has a second arm 5b abutting the other wall, such that the blade terminal 5 is received between spaced portions 5b<SP>1</SP> thereof. The second arm 5b further includes a locking element which may comprise tang 4 engaging against an abutment, e.g. projection 1a, to prevent withdrawal of member 5. A second abutment 1b may be provided to prevent movement of the member 5 out of opening 2 in the said 1st direction. In the embodiment of Fig. 2 (not shown) the blade terminal is held wholly within the portions (5b<SP>1</SP>) against one contiguous surface of member (5), the 1st arm (5c) being bent fully back to support and resiliently contact the tape cable on the same surface of the member (5).
