Abstract

1423821 Valves ALVASUM (ASEPTIC) Ltd 5 Feb 1973 [18 Feb 1972 22 Feb 1972] 7560/72 and 8011/72 Heading F2V A flexible tubular member for a pinch cock is formed with two axial shoulders 22, along the central section of its length, which shoulders define a thin walled portion and a thick walled portion such that when the member is deformed to close the tubular member the thin walled portion is wrapped around the shoulder thus avoiding cracking of the member. The material may be rubber or an elastomeric material or a flexible plastics material. Two bulges 118, 120 may be provided to avoid stretching the material when the valve is closed. The member may be formed with protruberances 124 which engage with notches 122 in a plunger 112 to facilitate opening and closing. The member is fitted in a valve body comprising two similar halves.
