1422212 Washing machines Z A HOROWITZ 4 Jan 1973 [14 Jan 1972] 587/73 Heading D1A A horizontal rotary drum 6 of a single drum washing machine has axially extending ribs 1 on the inner periphery which have perforations 2 in the leading face or both faces, and communicate with radial end channels 3 leading to an outlet at the axis, for the discharge of liquid from the drum during rotation. Where perforations 3 are provided in both faces means are provided for closing the perforations in the trailing face. Liquid may be discharged during high speed spinning by providing an intermediate container for the liquid.
