Abstract

1369397 Washing machines McGRAWEDISON CO 13 June 1973 [29 June 1972] 28087/73 Heading D1A In a laundry machine comprising an inclined rotary imperforate tub 12 comprising a cylindrical portion 12a contiguous with a frustoconical portion 12b and loading and unloading ends at respective ends, hollow perforated ribs 38 are provided extending the length of and parallel to the axis of the tub, each with a uniform height portion 38a applied to the tub portion 12a and a varying height portion 38b conforming to and applied to the tub portion 12b. As shown shorter lower intermediate ribs 39 are also provided, all the ribs being open at the unloading end and communicating through openings 41, 44 of a seal flange 34 of the tub with an annular space 37 and thence through openings 42 at the bottom of the non- rotatable top-pivoted door 27 and the interior 32 of the door and drain pipe 79 from the door to a drain funnel 76. The mounting of the drum on rollers 15, 16 and 19, the double seals 33, 35 and operation of the machine are as described in Patent Specification No. 1347622. (For Figures see next column)
