Abstract

1421467 Ventilators E SIEGWART 19 Feb 1973 [17 Feb 1972] 8137/73 Heading F4V A slot diffuser for mounting in the ceiling wall or floor of a room comprises a housing 1 having an elongate outlet opening, at least one fixed strip 6 having regularly spaced apertures 7 giving air streams in a first direction and at least one longitudinally displaceable bar 9 having spaced recesses 10 which define with the strip 6 curved air flow passages giving air streams in a second direction. The bar 9 is displaceable so that the air streams through recesses 10 may be separate from or merge with the air streams through the apertures 7. The diffuser may include a single strip 6 and bar 9, one or as shown two bars 9 between two strips 6, or three strips 6 and two bars 9 arranged alternately. The rate of air flow through the housing 1 is adjusted by a cone 21 connected to a screw 19 by a flexible shaft 20. The bar 9 is guided by the strip 6 and a fixed bar 14.
