1417894 Dolls MARVIN GLASS & ASSOCIATES 12 June 1973 [22 June 1972] 27927/73 Heading A6S [Also in Division F2] A doll having a motor within its torso driving one limb of a pair has the second limb of the pair connected outside the torso to the first limb so as to be driven by the first limb. As shown, a doll torso 12 contains a pull string spring motor 40 having its speed limited by a centrifugal governor 109 and driving an output shaft 74 fast upon the ends of which are eccentric disks 162 sliding in elongated slots 160 in leg members 140. Pins 146 on the torso 12 journal the leg members 140 outside the torso, and connecting pins 170 at the tops of the leg members slide in sockets 112b at the bottoms of levers 112 respectively fast with the doll's two arms 16, 18. Thus as the leg members 140 oscillate backwards and forwards about their pins 146, the arms 16, 18 oscillate in the opposite directions, forwards and backwards. Further leg and foot members 142, 144 are connected by pivots 148, 150 allowing relative angular adjustments of the parts to the leg members 140, cams and stops 156, 152 limiting forward bending of the feet members. A shoulder shroud 120 secured to the arm 18 has an end slot 122 engaged with a depending finger 134 fast upon a connector carrying the doll's head 14: thus as the arm 18 oscillates, the head 14 swings from side-to-side about a journal pin 126. A ball and socket connection 128a, 132 between the doll's head 14 and its connector permits the head to be positioned at different angular positions. The doll may have clothes (34), Fig. 1 (not shown), and be placed in a toy rocking chair (24) which swings back-and-forth as its arms, &c oscillate.
