Abstract

1,274,770. Flexibly-jointed doll. MATTEL Inc. 23 Dec., 1969 [23 Dec., 1968], No. 62704/ 69. Heading A6S. A doll includes a support member 24, having a central portion 25, and three elongated portions 26, 28 and 30 for flexibly coupling the trunk to the head and arms; and a second support member 27 having portions 32 and 34 for coupling the trunk to the legs. The support members are made of a resilient material, such as rubber, and are thick enough to support the doll appendages. The support members are designed that the head pivots about a point 36, and the arms and legs pivot about axes through the points 40, 42, 44 and 46. Brackets hold the suport members on the trunk housing. Splines on the sections 114 and 116 allow the legs to be posed by rotating through more than 90‹. The back portion 48 has an aperture 120 through which a retainer may pass to hold the doll in a case. (For Figure see next page)
