Abstract

1417702 Fuel injectors GKN TRANSMISSIONS Ltd 27 Feb 1973 [3 March 1972] 9942/72 Heading F1B A fuel injector comprises a fuel-pressure-opened valve 22 co-operating with a valve seat 16 at the outlet of a passageway in a body 10, stop means 15, 22 for determining the fully open position of the spring-closed valve and flow restrictor means 29 which limits the fuel increasing engine speed. Body 1 is mounted in a low thermal conductivitity bush 11 e.g. of nylon, and a filter 11 is mounted upstream of the flow restrictor. Fuel is injected in a cone-like curtain.
