Abstract

Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act] Valve-gear.-The fuel-injection valve is constructed without any packing-gland, the valve 4, the actuating- lever 10, and the closing- spring 6 being enclosed in the valve casing. The lever 10 is actuated from gear outside the casing by a tappet rod 11 which has oil-retaining grooves 11<1> and a valve-like head 12 to prevent leakage, and there may be a labyrinth joint between the lower end of the rod 11 and the casing. When the valve is closed, there is clearance between the parts 10 and 12 so that the spring 6 can seat the valve.
