Abstract
1415894 Terminals VACO PRODUCTS CO 13 Nov 1972 [24 Nov 1971] 52342/72 Heading H2E Insulating sleeves 38 for terminals have an internal surface comprising a cylindrical portion 40 a frusto-conical portion 46 and a reduced diameter lip 48. The sleeves may be joined in a strip for automatic handling. First a metal liner 64 which is an easy fit in the sleeve is inserted in the direction of the arrow and snapped past the lip 48 which retains it in place and prevents it catching the inserted wire. The crimping barrel 74 of an eye terminal 72 is then inserted in the liner and staked in place at 76A. The insulating sleeve may be made of polypropylene, nylon or polyvinyl chloride, the liner of tinplated copper or bronze and the terminal 72 of tin-plated copper.
