Abstract

1415585 Fuel injection nozzles DAIMLERBENZ AG 29 Aug 1973 [30 Aug 1972] 40632/73 Heading F1B Injection apparatus for an air-compressing fuelinjection I.C. engine comprises an injection valve nozzle holder 1 and a projecting connection piece 8, through which leakage fuel oil is conducted away from the holder and which is attached to the holder by a nipple 6 located at the side of the holder 1, the connecting piece 8 being secured against disconnection by means of a nut 2 which, in use, connects the holder 1 to a fuel line 3. The nipple 6 may be formed on either the holder 1, Fig. 1, or the connecting piece 8, Fig. 4. The leakage duct 4 in the holder, duct 5 in the nipple 6 and ducts 12, 13 in the connection piece lie in one plane making an angle of about 10 degrees with the axis of holder 1. In the Fig. 4 embodiment, leakage oil from a neighbouring injector flows along duct 12 and this oil together with that leaking from the nozzle holder 1, passes via duct 13 back to the fuel supply circuit.
