Abstract
1,210,381. Fuel injectors. BRYCE BERGER Ltd. Jan.11, 1968 [Jan. 13, 1967], No.1940/67. Heading F1B. The valve-controlled fuel passage 15 to an orifice 14 in the nozzle member 12 communicates with a supply passage 16a in a member 11 against which the member 12 is clamped in sealing contact and at least one of the sealing surfaces is relieved at 23 over part of its area by spark erosion to provide an unrelieved portion around the opening of the passage in the surface. Both sealing surfaces may be relieved. Passages (19), Fig. 2 (not shown), in the nozzle body 10 and members 11 and 12 convey coolant to a chamber defined by a shroud 20. Dowel pins (21), Fig.3 (not shown), locate the members 11 and 12 and a peg 22 locates the member 11 relative to the nozzle body 10.
