Abstract

1415174 Tamper-resistant bolts CEAG Ltd 20 July 1973 [16 Aug 1972] 38159/72 Heading F2H [Also in Division B3] A bolt 13 resistant to unauthorized removal comprises a shank 19 having a threaded portion 20 and an enlarged frusto-conical head 12 with a bore 16, offset from the bolt axis, extending into the head from its flat end face. The bolt is turned by a key 10 having a frustoconical socket 11 to fit over the bolt head 12, and a pin 15 to engage in the bore 16. Preferably the bore 16 opens at 21 into the underside of the head, so that dirt can be pushed out of the bore by the pin 15 of the key. As shown, the bolt 13 is used to secure a road danger lamp 22 to a support post 23, and engages a flanged nut 24 located in a hole 32 of the lamp casing.
