Abstract

1413921 Gas chromatography CHROMATRON BERLIN VEB 25 Oct 1973 [31 Oct 1972] 49852/73 Heading B1H A dynamic flow divider for preparative gas chromatography for dividing the gas stream 5 from a gas chromatographic column 12 into two partial streams, comprises two capillaries 1, 2, means for feeding the gas stream to be divided to one end of each of the capillaries, means for withdrawing the desired partial stream from the other end of a first of the capillaries, a needle valve 4 connected to the other end of the second of the capillaries and means for feeding an additional gas stream 6 via the needle valve to said other end of the second capillary, whereby the relative rate of flow of additional gas through the needle valve serves to determine the division of the gas streams between the capillaries. A third capillary 3 may be connected to the said other end of the second capillary and a further gas stream 9 connected to the remote end of the third capillary. In the Drawings 14, 15 and 16 represent regulators and 13 a sampler.
